Really Sad

From Ed Driscoll at PJMedia.

Look at the anger in her expression and be very afraid should she have any say in whether or not you get to see a doctor.
As I posted a few weeks ago, the surname similarity (Jean Sibelius vs Kathleen Sebelius) causes me to associate this cold martinet with the Finnish composer who gifted us with the beautifully elegiac tune "Valse Triste" -- sad waltz. Her being in charge of implementing death panels is as far removed from the nostalgic feelings that an elegy seeks to evoke as anything you might consider.

So it is with some satisfaction to see this picture where the insult implied by the title of the book she has just been handed has finally dented the phony smiling facade of this supremely arrogant public servant who, when asked if she would resign due to stupendous incompetence, snipped "I don't work for my critics."

The sad thing is how much damage she and her bureaucracy will have done to America before we have a chance to legally see that she is punished for her maliciousness. This roll-out has been so bad it could not have been worse had it been planned that way.  Heads should roll for such enormous incompetence. The really sad thing is that they won't.

Fodder for Thought

My friend Paul emailed me this questionnaire that has not simply multiple choice answers, but opportunities to offer deeper thoughts on the questions raised.

I am sharing with readers all the responses submitted which were not one of the muliple choices provided. Five detailed responses in all.

I most certainly invite my readers to agree, disagree, or add and subtract to any of the answers I gave.

Additionally, you may find it useful to your own understanding of various issues to ponder these or other questions asked at the site; that is whether or not you submit your answers.

Think of it as a personal interview. Be careful not to be "push-polled" into giving an answer. An example of that is my answer to the question about Iran. At this point I do not know what should be done. Our national policy towards them was destroyed by Jimmy Carter. Every opening where we might have improved our relations were, in my opinion, bungled opportunities at best. All the worse ways of looking at how those opportunities were handled involve hidden agendas which invite open ended speculations which do little to solve the threats of Iran to the world today.

Do you support the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Obamacare)?

So many times tort reform has been discussed as the ultimate answer, but it falls flat each time. It may be due to Congress being so full of attorneys and influenced by the lawyer lobby. Also the media so in line with them that this discussion is never given a fair airing or a chance. Medical costs have risen directly proportional to out of control court awards (legal liability passed along to every patient as a natural part of the cost of doing business). Tort reform (in conjunction with a more punitive AMA for bad doctors) is the single biggest solution to the escalating health costs.

The nation would be better served with understanding the legal costs being a major portion of this problem if its media were not so filled with stupid or corrupt people.

Should the United States end its trade embargo and travel ban on Cuba?

If we keep it, those caught violating ought to be prosecuted. Not prosecuting undermines respect for the law. It's so bad, it is probably too late for that. As it stands, open contempt for law and selective (political) enforcement has become commonplace, which is unfitting for a republic of laws and more fitting of fascist tyrannies.

How should the U.S. deal with Iran?

I don't know now. Easier solutions were available in past opportunities. Much of the current problem stems from our political system not wishing to admit they failed to take advantage of those earlier and easier solutions.

Should the U.S. maintain a presence at the United Nations?

Should the U.S. continue NSA surveillance of its allies?

Wherever did the notion that we don't keep an eye on everybody become a common understanding? When Ronald Reagan said "trust but verify" that seemed to be a general statement of one of the purposes of any nation's overall foreign policy. When did it become considered to be the symptoms of some form of national paranoia to engage in surveillance? This has been around since the beginning of time, only in less technological forms.

SSM Delenda Est

Drudge's Headline caught my attention. EXORCIST AUTHOR: SEBELIUS BACKS 'DEMONIC ACTS'...

That links to an article published yesterday by a long-standing member of the Soviet-Style Media (SSM), the Washington Post:
William Peter Blatty, writer of ‘The Exorcist,’ slips back into the light for its 40th anniversary By , Published: October 30

[snip]
Blatty has a gravity about him, and also, somehow, a lightness. An impishness. This is a man who is quick to laugh to the point of tears and also thinks that these may be “the last days.” This is a man who says, after a sip of coffee with Equal sweetener, “It’s a fallen world,” like he’s noting the weather.

Mere steps away from lunch is evidence of the fallen, in his eyes: his beloved alma mater, which he believes has drifted perilously into secularism. This month, Blatty submitted to the Vatican a petition with thousands of signatures and a 120-page institutional audit that calls for the removal of Georgetown’s Catholic and Jesuit designations if it does not comply with every little rule in “Ex Corde Ecclesiae,” John Paul II’s constitution for affiliated colleges. The university, for its part, says the “Catholic and Jesuit identity on campus has never been stronger.”

Bill, what are you doing? people have asked him.

Bill, times change. Let it go.

Bill, why are you punishing the school you love, the school whose scholarship money rescued you from a childhood of restless poverty in New York, the school that made possible your life, that cemented your faith?

“If you truly love someone that you think needs to be in rehab, you’ll do everything you possibly can to get them into rehab,” Blatty says. The last straw, he says, was Georgetown’s invitation of Kathleen Sebelius, secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, to be a commencement speaker in May of last year. Sebelius has a record of supporting abortion rights, and abortion is the issue that really sets Blatty’s nerves on fire.

He describes, his voice trembling, a particular abortion procedure in graphic detail.

He pauses. His voice is nearly a whisper.

That’s demonic.”
Those last 3 paragraphs should inform normal decent people why the SSM must be destroyed and the ground on which it stands salted so that nothing will ever grow there again.

Guaranteed, the reporter has in his possession all those graphic details about the particular abortion procedure that Sebelius endorses. Whatever was in them that reduced Bill Blatty's voice to whisper "that's demonic," the WaPo editor censured from us readers. Under no circumstances will they permit any doubt be cast upon the narrative. Especially the unspeakable, demonic narrative of the death cults.

SSM delenda est before it does it to you.

Alinskyite Norquist?

Breitbart headline sent to my email

Grover Norquist Turns to Progressive Media in Crusade Against Ted Cruz

Is Norquist joining the burgeoning Alinsky rule number 12* campaign waged by the Dems and the GOP traitors against Ted Cruz?

Or could it be the beginning of a counter-alinskyite campaign led by Breitbart against Norquist?  Given that Breitbart's current leadership displays to us nobody with the balls of its founder, we will see how long that lasts.

To add insult to injury, Norquist is funneling the money of conservatives to the one institution, SSM, that spurs on the mobs 24/7 to threaten all conservatives. However, he's got a lot of company there, including the TEA Party Patriots who continue to ignore grass roots complaints not to help keep SSM alive by paying it for anything.

*RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it." Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. (This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)

Attacked Again By My Personal Demon

It is a demon that mocks me in my efforts to increase wider understandings, understandings that were made possible by God having gifted me with a mind that notices things, has a long memory, and quickly ties various and disparate events and things together.

The demon's damage is made worse by it knowing how how it bothers me and stymies in my efforts out of my fear that my efforts might increase misunderstandings inadvertently or clumsily. You cannot un-ring a bell, and it's terribly hard to rewind an untensioned spool that's slipped its retainer.

For those who do me the honor of coming here to read my blather, I am going to show you why I so often shut down and not write anything more than short comments at other sites for long periods of time. I have a fear of making large mistakes and missing them, then have those mistakes go on to proliferate to have a life of their own, spreading more misinformation.

Beginning with a simple comment I left at Gates of Vienna in hopes of alerting historian Seneca III to an unfavorable use of his famous name, I made my first mistake of going into details in a follow-up comment that I specifically chose to do in order to spell out the threat to the author's name (guilt by association that could be stemmed with what I was demonstrating) more concisely.

The second mistake, had it been made only once, could be written off to maybe a typographical one that the spell-checker fixed, but which I did not notice. Yet even then, because the word used so destroys the understanding of the sentence, I still should have caught it. Worse. I did it more than once!

Here is the mea culpa I left at GoV (edited due to more errors! in the one posted there).

OMG. Several days late I have noticed that I made an awful error, and not just once.

In each instance where I typed “explicit,” the term I had intended was “extrinsic.”

I am not terribly prone to Malaprop, but this one being part of a quite esoteric subject with which I hoped to improve understanding of how the anti-theists without merit seek to exploit the name of Seneca, I find it terribly embarrassing.

However, my personal embarrassment by exposing it is less important than the stopping the propagation of misinformation just in case anybody is paying attention.

Extrinsic* (and not explicit) is the unwelcome parasitic property that seeks to attach itself to the intrinsic*.

The following line is the correct one:
I point to how Pascal was clearly irked by how extrinsic probabilism used by the Casuists seated at the Sorbonne crowded out all of the originals’ intrinsic substance.
This is why I say I’m best in providing insights rather than details where, echoing S III’s words, the damnable creeps in. And it also demonstrates why I dislike writing so. This shows why writing is, for me, a form of penance. Penance for the propaganda delivery system that I helped make possible, yes. But also penance for mostly making a living in my pre-retirement years and not battling the Statists in a more proportionate level to that which they attacked what I hold dear.

Thank you for your understanding.

Thank you too, dear readers, for putting up with my frailties.

'Hypocrisy for Me; Silence Thee'

Today the CBS wing of the Soviet-style media (SSM) carries the headline "Hillary Clinton Turns Tables On Heckler In Buffalo."

Drudge. instead, chose to inform us how CBS thinks she turned the tables:

 'THE FUTURE DOESN'T INCLUDE YELLING'

which implies that silence -- permitting only speech deemed pleasant and agreeable -- would be (God forbid) the Harridan in Chief's rule for the rest of us.

While I'm at it, and because the SSM (nor Drudge in this case) will not remind Americans, remember this for them.

In 2003, Hillary Clinton screeched "I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration."

**Update**
I am please to discover that apparently JWF beat me by a few hours in connecting the dots.

I made a point of it because Drudge failed to do it. It is important to make sure that inconsistencies, like this of Frau Hillary's two opposing opinions, are recorded in one place. It is the kind of thing that will bind our anti-fascist forces together.

More On How MSM is Now SSM

For those who still do not yet call the Main Stream Media (MSM) the Soviet-Style Media (SSM), here's a few paragraphs from Slate to demonstrate why it is so. And this particular example embodies the gruesome, Utilitarian nostrums of what is deemed right and proper by our ever more power-mad elite.

The title published by this laughably insignificant member of the SSM tells you all you need to know about the SSM's penchant for the Death Cult agenda:

Canada Has Death Panels

And that’s a good thing.

And the words of the article's second paragraph, and the last words of its third demonstrates how much like Pravda they are.
In other words: Canada has death panels.

I use that term advisedly. Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin made it famous in the summer of 2009, when Congress was fighting over whether to pass Obamacare. As Republicans and Democrats continue to spar over health care, we should pause to wonder why millions of Canadians have come to accept the functional equivalent of an idea that almost sank health care reform even though, in this country, it was imaginary.
Go read the rest to see why they concluded that "Canada has death panels."

What I feel it is most important to highlight is that even after senior Democrat Party officials have admitted that Obamacare has death panels, and slate admits that it likes them, Slate has the brazenness to flat out lie, continuing the official SSM narrative that Obamacare death panels are imaginary.

Thus MSM is SSM. QED.

Oh. And take notice of one more thing, much more important than anything pissant Slate may publish.

Once again, as the warning in my masthead reminds us daily, none of our "rulers" utters a harsh word against notions such as 'Death Panels are a good thing.' The propaganda aim is to get Americans accustomed to death panels; even to welcome them (as it says "many" Canadians now do). All the while pish-poshing that death panels are real. Craven, lying bastards are words too good to describe these cretins who are greasing the skids for a wholly new-to-America death-on-demand institution disguised as "healthcare."

Of Valor and Metal Past

As the death cult alliance sets up to extend politics in a Clausewitz sense, you may find it beneficial to be knowledgeable of what is possible against overwhelming odds. One such can be read at Seneca III's account, in 3 parts, of the battle of Rhodes. Start here: The Cross and the Crescent: Rhodes, 1522 (Part 1).

...the Order would have ceased to exist, for the Knights, as they had done so many times before, would have fought to the death. Fortunately, as it eventuated, the Order survived to find a new home and rebuild its manpower, and the Monks of War and the armies of Suleiman would meet again in Malta some forty-odd years later with a very different outcome.

Oops -- Sorry

Our system of government was intended to thwart the rise of tyranny.

One aspect of the checks and balances was given to the press. The fourth estate.

They were given a great deal of power to be watchdogs. It was presumed that no party would be safe from them.

But what provision did our founders provide us to reign in a technologically advanced media that viewed itself as an integral part of the ruling class?
One that knows it is so aware and smart and clever that rules of decency need only be applied to common men with less smarts?
That they are the ones smart enough to know when the truth needs to be buried and when lying is a good thing?

Q: Founding fathers: did you anticipate that you had not given the common man a statutory way to remedy the growth of power in an entity outside of your government system?

A: Oops. Sorry.

Update: Oh -- oops -- thanks to Og for providing the jabs in "chat" that probed my mind to come up with the insight at this better-late-than-never date. As he notes, there are many connotations associated with the consequences of a what has been king-maker media and its allies. What I now call a Soviet-style media, or SSM (instead of MSM) whenever the opportunity arises and where it will not be misunderstood. The aim of writing SSM is to drive home the point and the dangers associated with Pravda and Izvestia.

Capitulation

Capitulation
SYNONYMS   surrender, submission, capitulation. These nouns denote the act of giving up one's person, one's possessions, or people under one's command to the authority, power, or control of another. Surrender is the most general: "No terms except unconditional and immediate surrender can be accepted" (Ulysses S. Grant). Submission stresses the subordination of the side that has yielded: "Our cruel and unrelenting enemy leaves us only the choice of brave resistance, or the most abject submission" (George Washington). Capitulation implies surrender under specific prearranged conditions: Lack of food and ammunition forced the capitulation of the rebels.

Let me extend that last sentence a bit.
Capitulation implies surrender under specific prearranged conditions: Lack of spine and "conservative" media community support forced the capitulation of the patriots in the House of Representatives.
Obama über alles.

Update. I said Obama über alles without explanation initially because I had to run.

Here is a simple explanation. This "deal' that was concocted in the Senate that the HOR is about to agree to, has a poison pill for the power of the HOR* to control the taxation on those who elect their representatives who sit in the HOR. Because the population of the cities so controls who gets elected to the Senate, the localities that congressmen represent just lost a tremendous advantage.

In the near future you may come to understand that is what happens once this HOR passes a law that puts the debt ceiling limit into the hands of the Prez. It will then take a super majority for all future HORs to take it away again. Even if a rescinding bill passes the next Senate, just about any sitting Prez will veto rescinding legislation passed by simple majorities of both houses. A republic if you can keep it, indeed Dr. Franklin.

Update 2 is the asterisk above:
*Senate Debt Deal Includes Provision Lessening Congress' Power On Debt Ceiling...

SHOCK! -- An Open Ended Survey

Dear Readers.

I received a survey request (filled in below) from the Media Research Center (MRC). Initially I was expecting just another multiple choice form that misses many of the key issues of the day. Much to my delight, this one actually had, in addition to MRC's preferred topics,  "other" as choices. And what was even more special, MRC provided a space in which to spell out the other choice(s).

Burned out naif that I am, I have my doubts they will actually read what I put in the boxes. I know, many of you think I must be crazy again for even trying. But yes, while I still breathe, I will always try.

FYI: I have another post in the works providing evidence that MRC may not be all that it tries to convince us it is. They know how to ask money from us to do more of what they want; but when it came to answering the knocks at their door so they might listen to us, it seemed that, time and again, nobody was home.

Should they show some gonads here and actually respond as one expects of normal, decent human beings, I will have no need to publish it.

But right now, let me urge you to try to do what I did as shown below. Maybe, just maybe, we will actually affect Brent Bozelle's thinking, and he'll begin to listen to us more instead of simply telling us what he thinks is important. If you would like to participate, drop me a line and I'll forward you the email. Or if you don't want to hear more about while they want you to do this for them, just click this link.

Media Research Center. America's
Media Watchdog

We Must Hear from You . . . Please Take This Survey!

With so many ongoing scandals and the outrageous media censorship we're seeing in response, the Media Research Center needs your feedback and advice more than ever. Thank you for taking the time to respond to this quick survey. It will be an integral part of our strategy moving forward.

Our lack of a unified, anti-Statist party

Media's role in misleading Americans

Showing all MSM does not provide or misinforms about

Fix your tips & emails so it works! Enough with the mailer-daemons. You are leaving the impression you don't give a damn. Be more responsive!
6. If you could send a message to the American media, what would it be?
Americans have overall had a better life than subjects or citizens of other nations because they have been more free.

Stop your disinformation campaigns that aids the destruction of our liberties (as Pravda & Izvestia abetted the oppression of Soviet subjects). We know why many of you do so. We've heard it.  It is your elitist view that it is only right that common Americans should have a better understanding of how bad other peoples have it.

That sort of "equality" helps no human being other than the monsters who have risen to rule their peoples.

This is really something you can do without too much trouble. So please consider doing something similar. The MRC may simply ignore what you fill in, but please recognize that
we are rarely given such an opportunity.

Take advantage of it as I have.

I Was Told I Was Crazy

...but not for what I warned last Friday.

It may very well be true that in many other matters I'm nuts. I do not behave in ways others deem as rational; at least not for them.

Most often I hear that charge about my political views. "Isn't there anyone you trust? It must drive you crazy." I hear that often after one or another of my attacks on the GOP for keeping traitors in its midst.  "You are so quick to go there. [I'm not actually.] Why can't you be satisfied with chalking it up to stupidity and malfeasance?"

And this time I was insulted for a "far-fetched" warning about politics.

The good news part of the bad news is that it didn't take long for the latest charge to be proven baseless (as more often happens than not). It only took a couple of days.

In my last post about Chris Muir's cartoon stating that it was time to chuck the GOP and go third party, I declared it was too late.

Specifically I wrote: "The GOP needed to be replaced long before now. They helped install laws that will be used to essentially outlaw other parties...."

For that, one die-hard Republican told me I was nuts. It's not a conservative position.  It's a violation of the right to free association and will never happen. He didn't say, but I'm guessing he believed that it is not what Republicans would tolerate.

Well heh short-sighted scoffer: Senate Votes to Ban Third Parties from Ohio Elections

the Ohio State Senate has passed this bill which would essentially eliminate all third party candidates from ballots.

It is tough enough already due to people like my GOPe acquaintance. So spread the news. Make the existing parties even more uncomfortable. Let them know about how you view their attempts to block your efforts to build new blocs. Those are blocs that you will need to succeed in defying and overturning their efforts at enslaving your children ever more.

Too Late

"Dead Parrots"
I'm sorry Chris. The GOP needed to be replaced long before now. They helped install laws that will be used to essentially outlaw other parties under the guise that the people in them are a threat to the public. It's worse than conspiracy; it's consensus. There is only one way to break that up.

Contradistinctions

Whenever I see or even hear of this cold and uncaring postmodernist martinet:
Kathleen Sebelius, Sec. Health & Human Demise

it destroys the sweet memory and nostalgia associated with this:

The entire Obama administration is despicable. But as regular readers know, I hold the entire global elitist sustainability crowd responsible for the Bummer's elevation. They so hate individual liberty and the thriving that results, that I suspect that He will hold them accountable for Obama and the millions of subsequent deaths.

*In case the video gets removed, it was the Sibelius scored vignette in Allegro Non-Troppo.

Parsing the Leftists' Shifting of Blame

The following is a late comment inserted into the Breitbart List thread that was the subject of my last post.

You guys are living in a fiction here... How soon you forget that the House Republicans are the reason this is shut down, not Obama (my God you love to blame Obama for everything). You don't get to put the entire Gov't on hold and use it as ransom to get things done. That's extortion. There is a right way to do this: Try Winning an Election. Period.

The tone of this comment sounds too suspicious to me. It would not be the first time a web site used socks as trolls to increase comments. So my parsing of the comment includes jibes at Breitbart editors in a just in case manner.

Parsing this:

Suspect commenter
You write like a Breitbart.com tool; trolling for comments. Just about every phrase you used sounds tongue-in-cheek, designed to be taken apart bit by bit.

Fictions
Leftists build the fictions for liberals to inhabit. Your comment would be projection if you are really a lib or Leftist and not a breitbart tool.

You don't get to put the entire Gov't on hold
Correct, we don't. It's Obama. The Prez has the reigns to operate or not operate anything.

and use it as ransom to get things done.
Exactly what Obama has done. For any Fed areas that might hurt his opponents, he's shut them down For those areas that might hurt his base, he's kept them open. As examples of how he has chosen to shutdown selectively.
  1. Open especially, The National Mall: for an illegal alien rally (costing money).
  2. Increasingly barrycading the WW II memorial: .Shipping in and installing barrycades; patrolling; arrests. All costs money; all NEW costs.
  3. Brazenly, for himself he's kept open all golf courses he uses.

Extortion
Hence the extortion is his. With each passing day he takes on more attributes of a living fascist-style dictator -- penalizing his opponents and rewarding his friends. And that is added to all the crony-captialism that preceded it, another earmark of fascism.

House Republicans are the reason
House GOP are scapegoated by Obama and his media for every choice he makes to shut whatever he wants. The House does not tell the Prez what to shutter and cannot stop him. His refusal to negotiate on anything is the fact. He says so in his own words. Of course, the media won't highlight those instances, hence they are the rebirth of soviet-style media (SSM). Too bad Breitbart.com hasn't got the balls of its founder to call them that.

my God
Your god being obama, make that lower case.

you love to blame Obama for everything
I don't blame Obama for the GOPe's complicity with him -- in fact, he wouldn't be in office without their aid. The TEA party movement got started precisely because the GOPe is seen as off the reservation. Cannot blame the Bummer for that.

There is a right way to do this: Try Winning an Election. Period.
We did. We elected people to the House of Representatives who promised to reverse Obamacare if they could, or defund it if the Senate or Prez refused to budge. It is the Left that continues to deny that the House of Representatives is the one section of our government that, by constitutional design, controls our funding of the federal government. Executive orders spend beyond that is a crime. And do not try to tell us that Obamacare is "The Law." Your god keeps breaking that law depending on who he deems worthy of exemption, just like a fascist dictator.

Petty, Spiteful Prez: Unprecedented MSM Complicity

Stolen from Crusader Rabbit who stole it from Breitbart.

Please feel free to steal again.

The prologue at CR includes most of the closing paragraph by Breitbart's John Nolte:
Below is a list of illogical, unnecessary, and shockingly spiteful moves our government is making in the name of essential and non-essential. The media may or may not report on these individual occurrences, but what they will never do is provide the American people with the full context and scope of Obama’s shrill pettiness.

Nolte also wrote: This list will be regularly updated, and if you have something you feel should be added, please email me at jnolte@breitbart.com or tweet me @NolteNC.

**Updated by me with two more below**

  1. Treatments for Children Suffering From Cancer – The GOP have agreed to a compromise by funding part of the government, including the National Institutes of Health, which offers children with cancer last-chance experimental treatment. Obama has threatened to veto this funding.
  2. The World War II Memorial – The WWII memorial on the DC Mall is a 24/7 open-air memorial that is not regularly staffed. Although the White House must have known that WWII veterans in their eighties and nineties had already booked flights to visit this memorial, the White House still found the resources to spitefully barricade the attraction.
The Republican National Committee has offered to cover any costs required to keep the memorial open. The White House refused. Moreover, like the NIH, the GOP will pass a compromise bill that would fund America’s national parks. Obama has threatened to veto that bill.
  3. Furloughed Military Chaplains Not Allowed to Work for Free – Furloughed military chaplains willing to celebrate Mass and baptisms for free have been told they will be punished for doing so.
  4. Business Stops In Florida Keys – Although the GOP have agreed to compromise in the ongoing budget stalemate and fund the parks, Obama has threatened to veto that funding. As a result, small businesses, hunters, and commercial fisherman can’t practice their trade. While the feds have deemed the personnel necessary to keep this area open “non-essential,” the “enforcement officers” to ensure no business is done are “essential.”
  5. Obama Blacks Out Sports, Entertainment Programming to Overseas Troops – The American Forces Network (AFN) that provides American sports and entertainment programming to our troops stationed abroad, has been shut down. For some reason, though, AFN News will still broadcast news, just not any of the popular and fun stuff.
Camp David is essential, but popular programming for heroes overseas is non-essential.
  6. Obama Closes D-Day Memorial – The GOP have offered to compromise and fund the National Parks. Obama has said he will veto this compromise legislation. As a result, along with 24 other military cemeteries, the D-Day memorial in Normandy has been barricaded.
  7. Obama Tries to Close Privately-Funded Mt. Vernon – Although George Washington’s Mt. Vernon estate is privately funded, the feds blocked visitors from entering the parking area because the Park Service maintains the lot. Apparently, the New Media publicity resulted in the feds backing down.
  8. Obama Closes Over 100 Privately-Managed Parks That Cost No Money to Run –  The U.S. Treasury actually makes money from the rent paid by a private company that “employs about 400-500 camp workers and managers across about a dozen states.” No federal money is used to operate these parks. No federal employees are used to staff these parks. Taxpayers make a profit from these parks. Still, Obama had them closed and as a result 400-500 employees and a private business are taking it in the neck.
  9. Obama Closes Self-Sustaining Colonial Farm It Hasn’t Supported Since 1980 – “For the first time in 40 years, the National Park Service (NPS) has finally succeeded in closing the Farm down to the public. In previous budget dramas, the Farm has always been exempted since the NPS provides no staff or resources to operate the Farm.”
  10. Obama Tries to Close State-Run Parks in Wisconsin – “The park service ordered state officials to close the northern unit of the Kettle Moraine, Devil’s Lake, and Interstate state parks and the state-owned portion of the Horicon Marsh, but state authorities rebuffed the request because the lion’s share of the funding came from state, not federal coffers.”
  11. Obama Closes Vietnam Memorial – The GOP have passed compromise legislation that would fund national memorials and parks, and open them to the public. Obama threatened a veto. Apparently, the “essential” government employees are those erecting barricades, not those who could keep the memorial open.
  12. Obama Closes Privately-Owned Hotel, Police Block Parking Lot – “The operator of a 51-room inn located on U.S. government-owned land in North Carolina abandoned his defiant stance on Thursday to keep the property open despite being ordered to close as part of the federal government shutdown.”

Obama Slams Striking Workers

Obama/Reid Shutdown, Day 3

The President of these United States, member of the Democratic Party, argues that striking workers deserve to be fired. Think I made that up do you?

Will someone who knows how tell me how to save this youtube? Because I believe the White House, after someone there awakens from their drunken stupor, is gonna be putting pressure on Google to send this down the memory hole. Save this folks. It's a gem.

Compelled Sterilization

In the bad old days of the early "Progressives," the eugenics program most often associated with  Margaret Sanger came under attack for its racism. It sought to sterilize those minorities it considered sub-standard and less useful for their utopian vision.

Naturally, they met backlash from many sources. So they redirected their programs to achieve much the same thing by indirect means.

Mostly they sought "voluntary" compliance. The sneer quotes are meant to convey the fact that they continued to hide their racism by speaking kindly to their targets and demonizing those who tried to warn the targets of the subterfuge.

Today we have new and improved forms of subterfuge that have made a mockery of the meaning of voluntary. Someone who is not yet fully developed and aware is hardly making decisions that in any reasonable way could be called "informed volition."

I call this newest form "compelled sterilization." It comes in the disguise of "sex-change" operations.

The pro-homosexual lobby (all radical leftists who may or may not include actual gay people as if that matters to the Left) has gotten state legislatures to prevent parents from protecting their children from the radical "information" supplied to children.

There are any number of arguments contrary to that agenda that we all would hear on broadcast media if that media also wasn't Leftist.

I am simply not that creative a writer to come up with arguments that I think could be provided the public.

But I am capable of seeing that sex change operations are sterilization by other means.

I'd like to see arguments that justify the headline Compelled Sterilization.
It just seems to me that if the homosexual lobby succeeds in
  1. preventing the opposition to their "information" from providing contrary information to children.
  2. preventing parents from protecting their children from making a choice instigated by having been convinced by that one-sided set of arguments.
  3. that any sterilizations that result are the direct result of other concerned parties being forced into both silence and being legally compelled from interceding.
I've got good, sensible readers. What can you add to this?

The Way It COULD Work

Bottom line: We prepare to expose the lies of our enemies.

We know that the Soviet-Style Media (SSM) will demonize any response by the GOP controlled House of Representatives to the Democratic controlled Senate's version of the Continuing Resolution bill. The new GOP effort could work to build a true opposition to Statism and marginalize the SKUNCs instead of them marginalizing the constitutionally conscientious members of the GOP.

To help make that work it becomes up to the new and real independent 4th Estate like this blog to pass along the real substance to its readers. Our aim is to keep our spirits high. That is precisely in preparation for the SSM trying to demoralize us and make us give up in despair. They will do what they have always done: pass along "news" that runs from half truths, to outright lies, to provocations of mob violence. Our job is to neutralize it all as much as possible.

I'm told by many (who are far more religiously faithful than I) that despair is a sin. So I'm encouraging my readers help me do my part (and maybe theirs) to help keep our side from additional sinning.

First, let me familiarize you with the latest response by the House of Representatives to the Senate GOP not blocking Harry Reid's determination to keep in place the Obama/Reid/Pelosi  deleterious health act of 2010.

Drudge does a superior headlining job than either of the two sites to which he links.

  1. Politico: DELAY OBAMACARE OR WE WILL SHUT IT DOWN
  2. Speaker of the House: BOEHNER MAKES MOVE

Excerpts from SSM source 1.
This puts Senate Democrats and the White House at loggerheads with House Republicans, a standoff that could lead to the first government shutdown since 1995.

“We’ve had enough of the disunity in our party,” Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) told the meeting of House Republicans Saturday afternoon. “The headlines are Republicans fighting Republicans. This will unite us. This protects the people who sent us here from Obamacare.”

House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said it would be the “fastest whip check in history,” as every member raised their hand, saying they would support the bill.
Excerpts from the horse's mouth 2.
“The American people don’t want a government shut down and they don’t want ObamaCare. That’s why later today, the House will vote on two amendments to the Senate-passed continuing resolution that will keep the government open and stop as much of the president’s health care law as possible.

“The first amendment delays the president’s health care law by one year. And the second permanently repeals ObamaCare’s medical device tax that is sending jobs overseas.”
As you can already see in the way the Politico framed the news, it is long on what the SSM wants the public to hear and short on substantive reasons which just so happen to match the public's wishes. IOW, the SSM does not want the public to know how much the GOP wing of Congress is doing what the public sent them to Congress to do.

This has been my small effort to seek out substantive news. The more of us that do this, the more the efforts of our side stand a chance of working.

Sunny Outlook On Obamacare

I've yet to see this young lady miss a beat.

Update on Friday, October 4, 2013.

Because the previously embedded link to Sunny Lohman's video loads as autoplay, I have finally deleted the embed and am only providing you with a link to the entry at the daily caller Daily Caller embed of Sunny's Outlook on Obamacare.

I will take the opportunity of this update to criticize Daily Caller for a number of things on this.
  1. This is the first of Sunny's video's whose audio sounds like it was recorded in a cave.
  2. It's hard to hear her well. Horrible production values.
  3. The nature of their embed that insists on autoplay is, if it keeps up, going to run against their goal of increasing traffic to their site. It's okay to have the included ad, but they really ought to find some other way to direct traffic to them. I'd label this attempt as a FAIL.
  4. So far they have not made it possible to find her weekly videos easily. The only way I found her first week's video was by happenstance via another blog. Searching for "Sunny" at their site did not do it at the time I tried. I have not yet gone back to find this week's video, published yesterday.

Media Errors: "A Feature Not a Bug"

Fast forward to 5:50 in this clip

"My final conclusion 'This is deliberate,'" says Stewart. "The chaos they vomit onto the screen -- the very same thing we thought news organizations were created to prevent* -- is a feature, not a bug."

*Jon Stewart malapropped clarify for prevent. We corrected the record to be consistent with context.
Stewart goes on to a clip from an interview with CNN's honcho, where he explains (crows?) how the audience forgave them for their botch of the Boston Marathon terror episode. How does he know? CNN was rewarded by the viewers when, only two days later, they gave CNN its largest audience ever.

Stewart concludes from that:
"OMG! The lesson they take from this is 'it doesn't matter how much they betray our trust; we'll keep coming back.'  We're in an abusive relationship with CNN!"

Not funny ha ha, but funny sad.

It reminds me of Bill Clinton's twist of the old wisdom into his infamous "Why tell the truth when a good lie will do?" Clinton's cynicism is echoed in the behavior of the Soviet-Style Media (SSM) where it seems like their slogan is
"Don't worry about making errors; it's good practice for when ordered to lie."

Filibuster Live

Live streaming video by Ustream

While you watch this, you may find this post, inspired by the words of Harry Reid (who made this filibuster necessary), noteworthy.

No Taxation Without Representation

One More Thing

I have broken precedent here.

This little note is my fifth post in two days. I've never done that before.

Furthermore, I may yet post two more before the day is out.

Reason?

I have never been so upset before with our public servants, our media, and also our so-called watchdogs of the media as well.  The two posts I'm currently working on could be too long were I to include all the evidence I have showing that Brent Bozelle's Media Research Center is in it only for the money they can get in donations from us who are targets of the alphabet networks.

As brother Og asks, "how is that news?"  What is news is that I have evidence.  Stay tuned.

One Handgun

One worthy, stand-alone extract from Wretchard

In other news we hear that one handgun in Kenya saved 100 lives.
An off-duty member of the SAS emerged as a hero of the Nairobi siege yesterday, after he was credited with saving up to 100 lives.
The soldier was having coffee at the Westgate mall when it was attacked by Islamists on Saturday. With a gun tucked into his waistband, he was pictured helping two women from the complex.
He is said to have returned to the building on a dozen occasions, despite intense gunfire.
A friend in Nairobi said: ‘What he did was so heroic. He was having coffee with friends when it happened.
‘He went back in 12 times and saved 100 people. Imagine going back in when you knew what was going on inside.’
Calling Piers Morgan. Calling Piers Morgan.

Forced Against His Will; of the Same Opinion Still

I headlined this old maxim so as to provide South Carolina campaigners something to work with. I wanted to build something to provide an example of how to help voters expect what lies to hear from Lindsey Graham so they will reelect him.

Talkshow host Mark Levin sarcastically refers to the Progressive duo of Graham and McCain as "the same sex senators." Why?  Because they tend to be so close on Leftist policy issues, including redefining marriage, on most any  part of the Prog assaults on our culture and religious mores.

So for primarying Graham, I suggest looking at McCain's successful bid to hoodwink the conservative electorate of Arizona, and presume that Graham will attempt to do the same, and then exploit the similarity of the two men.

Based on the following story, it appears he has already begun to do so. For Graham in 2014, the Obamacare factor should still be big:

Facing Primary, Lindsey Graham Now Supports Defunding ObamaCare

Yet, we all know from only months ago what he really thinks, and "a man forced against his will is of the same opinion still. "

For McCain for 2010, illegal aliens and border violence were big:
1. "Since taking a harder line on illegal immigration, the Arizona senator's future may hinge on whether voters see him as honest or opportunistic."
June 08, 2010 | By Mark Z. Barabak, Los Angeles Times
(Heck, even the LASlimes was skeptical):

 2. Pressure on McCain was so great that he stooped to create this video.

Yet look at John McCain's stance today. He rails against all who expected him to honor his promise to protect our borders.
So, yes, "a man forced against his will is of the same opinion still." And, as evidenced by McCain's hatred for anything TEA party, there is hardly another man too who could be more bitter about his feeling being forced to pretend to be a servant of the public's will. How degrading, eh Johnny boy?

This is meant more as a demonstration than as any solid sort of campaign program. It was too easy to build.

Still, if South Carolina campaigners cannot come up with their own ideas after reviewing these facts, I'd not trust the campaign chairs. They've probably been bought off by the GOPe which they must think is the only thing that really matters. There are too many shadowy consultants for whom character, integrity, patriotism and honor are only words to be manipulated.

No Taxation Without Representation

Harry Reid said today
“We’re not going to bow to Tea Party anarchists who deny the mere fact that Obamacare is the law.”

Hold on Harry. Now you are concerned about the law? What about the border laws? Immigration Laws? War laws that say the President can't arm terrorists as he's doing in Syria and did in Libya and Egypt?

Now you are "Mr Law is sacrosanct."

You know where you can shove your hypocrisy you pompous Prog.

Now lets get down to tax.

The only reason this damn law was declared constitutional was that the SCOTUS majority opinion called its key penalty a tax.

We are represented by members of Congress to decide when and if we will be taxed and by how much. The provisions in the law must be funded each year with our representatives agreeing to it. That is the point of the checks and balances. The House of Representatives is not the Senate that you rule.

At least on the face of it we do not yet live in a one-party ruled nation. Got that buster?

Who are you to call half the legislature and the people who gave them the majority anarchists? Project much buster?

It is YOU who is acting like only you and Obama are joint central strongmen of an anarchy, where you make the laws for others as you deign which you yourself will obey.

Because you have the nerve to show no deference or even simple respect (you damned radical!) to our representatives who tell you "NO. You cannot tax us for Obamacare" -- then FUHR.

Dammit TEA party patriots. Nail this bastard but good.
No taxation without representation.
That IS the spirit of the TEA party.

No, Not Stupid; The Complicit Party

I get so tired of needing to point this out. Ace will turn blue in the face before he utters the words Complicit Party, no matter how much evidence he presents demonstrating it.

Why It's Called "The Stupid Party": GOP Turns Fight Against The Horrors Of ObamaCare Into A Process Story

You know why the GOP loses a lot? Because it deserves to.
Yesterday a bunch of Republican Senators went around to the various Sunday shows and instead of talking about why it's imperative ObamaCare be repealed because of the damage it's doing, they decided to make it about how much they hate Ted Cruz. Some Republicans went as far as to offer Fox News Sunday Host Chris Wallace what he termed, "opposition research" on Cruz.

His point is valid about what would be stupid if they really were on our side. But all evidence suggests that we cannot afford to think those who are smart enough to attain the power and position they now own can ONLY be stupid on life threatening laws. Once it's happenstance, twice it's coincidence, thrice it's enemy action.

Look even Ace shows he does understand the problem by ending his post with "There are only a couple of ways the GOP can possibly lose the House next year. A shutdown isn't one of them but completely demoralizing conservatives certainly could."

Ultimately I cannot make headway on this alone. I will try, but that is far from the same thing as succeeding. More smaller blogs need to say this -- "No, not the stupid party; the complicit party"-- when they report on the next bit of evidence supporting it. Only in that way do we stand a chance to rid ourselves of Prog Republicans once and for all.

**Update**
An Obama hack at The Politico equated men like Senator Cruz to scorpions:
"I am not talking about the entire Republican Party. I am talking about a faction of far-right, tea party-driven congressmen who do not care who drowns."
See what this implies? The Left knows and needs to protect the SKUNCs who work with them to undermine America. As the TEA Party members get hit from both sides, help make other patriots see how these SKUNCs are complicit.

Update Contempt from Unexpected Sources

This is the third in a series of emails I've received from Heritage. (The second, which was like the first which I have already discussed, I ignored).

Dear Pascal,

Without leadership, nations crumble.

Yet today, our nation’s leaders too often fail to lead. They are too often feckless, subject to the winds of public opinion.

Unless we hold them accountable to our Constitution and to the conservative principles critical to our nation’s success, we will slip deeper and deeper into an economic, moral, and spiritual decline.

The Heritage Foundation is willing to fill this leadership vacuum and lead the fight to restore America. And I believe you have what it takes to stand alongside us.

The Heritage Foundation is calling 500 strong, committed conservatives like you to join our exclusive Leaders Club before September20[ IOW: SEND MONEY!]

Your support has already made a difference. Just yesterday, Congressional leaders announced their support for a plan -- championed by Heritage over the objections of the Washington Establishment -- to defund Obamacare.

But this isn't the end of the fight. We need people like you who will lead based on principle, not popularity . . . who will commit to the conservative cause month in and month out.
[ IOW: SEND MONEY MONTHLY!]

[IOW BE A GOOD LEADER (laughter stifled) AND SEND MONEY]

Thank you for standing with Heritage in our fight to get America back on course.
Sincerely,
Jim DeMint
President
The Heritage Foundation
[Bwahahahaha]

Good News or Bad?

Wednesday night was the first time I heard any talk show host use the phrase Soviet-style in the manner I have when referring to what most people still refer to as MSM, but to which I refer as SSM -- Soviet-Style Media.

The actual sentence he used was  near the end of his opening monologue at 11:50 (of the podcast) pertaining to the fight we have forced on the House of Representatives to eliminate the funding for ObamaCare:
"What will all the phoney conservatives, phoney leaders of the Republican Party in the senate [McCain, Graham, McConnell, Alexander], what will they do?  Are they going to continue to undermine the American people who want nothing to do with this damn Soviet-style law? " [Earlier in the monologue he lays out how tyrannical Obamacare's implementation has been, and thus fitting of the appellation.]
The good news is that by Levin uttering the phrase "Soviet-style," that the phrase is no longer found solely on this humble blog. It is now okay to say on national radio. And elsewhere.

The bad news: Is it too little too late to affect the debate and fight?

Well, let us pray that it is not too late.  I myself realized only this past March that the media is the most Soviet-style institution we have. And, as such, has been the most damaging to our efforts to garner respect for the TEA Party movement and its goal of reining in the monstrous growth of Leviathan.

Thus, I say again, paraphrasing Cato the Elder, but in English this time: Soviet-style media must be destroyed.

Contempt from Unexpected Sources

This time it is the Heritage Foundation and a letter from its head, former GOP Senator Jim DeMint.
Subject: Lead the way

Dear Pascal,

Are you a true and committed conservative leader? Do you want to be?
Followed by more attempts at sounding appealing. And, at the closing, above link is again offered.

This is what you find at the link as of the time of this posting:

How you can be a leader who will change the course of the conservative movement

Our nation is under siege by big-government liberals who work tirelessly and deliberately to dismantle the foundation of our great country.

We see the evidence of the liberals’ work in the federal government’s over-reaching regulation, out-of-control spending, skyrocketing deficits, and weakened national defense.

The liberals’ constant vigilance—and the left-wing drumbeat from their media allies—means that Heritage’s fight for conservative principles must not rest. To carry this fight through to victory, we must have principled partners who will stand with us along each step of this battle.

You can be part of the solution

To be prepared for this fight, The Heritage Foundation created the Leaders Club, a small cadre of committed conservatives who show their dedication to conservative principles by supporting the cause with a simple monthly donation.

Let me highlight the key words in that last portion on "how to become a leader" before concluding:
show dedication to conservative principles with a simple monthly donation.

IOW:
Listen you schmucks: Send Heritage your money and leave the thinking to us big brains.

Great! That is the precisely the language the TEA party movement hears from the GOPe.

Crystal Clear: FUHF

BTW, I do not have HF's email recipient list, and I know they won't listen to any email I send them back.  That would be true even if I doesn't run up against an automatic "no-return-email" wall. So they have left me (FUPF) with this blog exposé as the only way I have to attempt to get through to them.

If you can see the contempt for us "proles" that this sort of emailing  implies, please consider doing something like this at your own blogs, or in comments elsewhere. It is really not so much that I am for revolting, it is that I find the Establishment revolting.

Contempt for Us: Relentless

I received this email from the Media Research Center

Dear Pascal,
It’s hard to decide which is the bigger scandal: The IRS harassing conservatives or the liberal Soviet Style* media’s continued censorship of this shockingstory. [*fixed by PF]

In our relentless effort to blow the lid off the most shocking political scandal to hit Washington in decades, the Media Research Center has uncovered that ABC, NBC, and CBS are refusingto report the latest bombshell news that severely undercut the IRS’s case that the agency wasn’t politically motivated in its targeting of Tea Party groups.

In a February 2011 email, Lois Lerner advised her staff that the Tea Party matter was “very dangerous” and insisted that “Cincy should probably not have these cases.”

And how do the leftist propagandists posing as journalists respond? By censoring this story completely.
I rarely sign these petitions. That is due to my personal discomfort that organizations like this do not request any sort of aid other than signing their petitions and sending them money. When the communication is only one-way, then it is categorically non-grassroots, and thus highly suspect. It smells too much of O'Brien. If your senses differ from mine, here is the link to their petition and entry into their pester you forever list.

All we ask is that you sign our Stop Censoring the IRS Scandal petition to shame the liberal media into doing their job.

"Shame the liberal media SSM." ROTFLMAO

Well Beyond Shameless

I often speak in general about how the Progs, as they advanced their power grabs, came to the phase where they acted shamelessly. That is, they became so powerful they could feel the success of their long-term agenda was fully secure. Opposition to their expanding agenda had become so spotty as to have become unworthy of even acknowledgement.

That is why this story caught my eye. The opposition this time seems to have moved them to mounting a reactionary type vendetta.

Congress’s Exemption from Obamacare Make Congress get insurance the same way the little people do? Hill denizens howl in fury.

Excerpt:

The Congressional Leadership Empire decided to strike back at Vitter. Politico reported that several Democratic senators have asked staff to draft legislation that would deny federal health subsidies to anyone who votes for the Vitter plan, even if Vitter’s plan doesn’t become law. An even more spiteful draft bill would bar subsidies to any lawmaker or aide found by a congressional ethics committee to have “engaged in the solicitation of prostitution.”

Aside from the strong-arm tactics that this dust-up provides us a rare opportunity to witness, there is the implied better-than-thou by the Senators out to punish Vitter and allies for his dissent with them.

What I observed here was what I wished to place in my archives. It's been abundantly clear that DC has been operating in a crony-capitalist capacity for many years, but most openly -- do a search for the word brazen on this blog for more examples -- in these last five years.

So please note that they who seek now to punish Vitter, specifically for a past forgiven incident of "solicitation of prostitution," have  themselves proven to be the best paid whores in our country's history. Thus, Senators Reid and Boxer, in attacking Vitter this way, are well past shameless.
