Establishment Tactics

Very few of the Establishment appear to be honest brokers. Hence I understand the short-term allure of the tactics of Donald Trump. But long term? Really?

Please let examples such as the following serve as a warning (one of many I've received, but I'm providing this one as an abject lesson) to those who want to believe that "someone is working for ME." My letter to them [Heritage] could be sent to Trump and a horde of others. I suspect it will be met with deaf ears if it is even read by anyone.

Heaven forbid that anyone at your institution or others like you would bother to personalize a fund-raising message at least somewhat.

I do not remember what year it was exactly -- I think 1999 or 2000 -- when I last sent you any money.

First of all, I'd say my membership long ago expired and so it is impossible for me not to want it to expire now. In fact once was the only time I sent you anything.  It was because I read of an attempt by the Clinton administration to attack you (I do not recall now the nature of that attack). In retrospect you have forced me to conclude that it was a weak moment on my part. I find it painful to recall. Thank you.

And secondly, but more importantly, since 2000 was the last time I could have sent you anything, how is it possible that I could now be one of you most dedicated members?  The very essence of what Heritage is supposed to stand for is undermined by such a preposterous designation. 

I can hear your best explanation now:

"What we do is so important that we must maintain funding, and past contributors have proven to be future ones, thus we are hoping we can touch you again, so please excuse a little hyperbole." 

In other words: "Our ends justify our means." 

How exactly is that not similar in nature to Nancy Pelosi's "Are you serious? Are you serious?" when asked where in the constitution one could find permission for Obamacare.

I am sadly aware how sophistry is a nasty part of our heritage. Given that the ends justifying the means tactics are being employed by your fundraisers, it would appear sophistry, or at best its useful idiot tool casuistry, have become a mainstay at Heritage.

If you retain a vestige of shame you will rectify this behavior immediately.

At the least one would think that Heritage, which claims to be in the forefront of protecting individuals from large and remote institutions, and a institution in its own rite, could respond favorably to an individual who has caught you employing tactics apparently learned from those you want us to believe you are protecting us. Et tu Heritage?

Your cynicism feeds my skepticism. If your purpose in life is to convince the public that nothing beyond divine intervention can save us, then you are firmly on the road to damnation.

The question -- answered by the headline above -- was asked by the man who has been tracking Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber all these years. 

Weinstein, back at home, was stunned at the reaction. Why did he keep finding Gruber gaffes? Why didn't the press glom onto this stuff first?

Yes Mr. Weinstein. A Soviet-Style media reports on only that news which allows the soviet-style government to operate with impunity; to hell with the voters it allegedly represents.

It is clear that those at the top of the influence peddling pyramid know full well that what I'm relating here is obvious to just about every American who is willing to pay attention. So it only goes to prove that you creeps at the top are seeking to provoke a reaction from one or more hotheads so your fascist preparations can finally begin in earnest. What you are ignoring at your own risk is there are many people who understand the dangerous game you are playing and may be even more ruthless than you. The next member of your cadre who dies prematurely in all likelihood will not be due to natural causes. But there will be no evidence to the contrary other than whatever your bunko agents try to invent. Think Andrew Breitbart. You may currently believe that your worst fear is what will happen if you cross your other club members. Reality can prove you wrong. Think about repenting while you still have time.

Two days before the State of the Union speech to be delivered by the President of the United States, that same president was charged with abuse of power by a news-making senator.

It was the kind of statement that news organizations once craved because such controversy helped them sell interest in their shows and gain them revenue.

But what would one expect from a "news" organization whose purpose was not to gin up interest in its shows but rather to promote another agenda even apparently more important than their revenue generated by viewership? You'd expect them to edit out the controversy.

It is blatantly obvious that CBS is trying to shield President Obama 2 days before his big speech. It, like Pravda and Izvestia before it, knows no shame when it comes to marching to the demands of the Party. MSM continues to live up to the Soviet-Style Media label. I do not recall what the major news organ was for the Nazis, but I'm sure it was little different from the Soviets, only it lived a shorter time.

Release the Truth Mr. McFatridge

The video I posted on Wednesday at "Charm" At the EPA has been pulled. Its author, a self-designated "environmentalist," claimed copyright infringement. This was despite the author having previously having labeled it "reuse allowed."

The Daily Caller reports:

The source and now YouTube complainant, David McFatridge of “Citizen Media for We The People,” is an environmentalist and, according to Inhofe’s office, has eliminated all content related to Armendariz’s speech from his YouTube channel.

McFatridge’s complaint comes despite the fact that his page reads, “Consider ALL video Creative Commons Attribution license (reuse allowed)”.

When I first posted the video, it was reading a scant 301 hits. When last I looked it had over 66K hits with no end in sight. 

Apparently when the video was shared within the narrow close-knit "environmentalist" community, they must have chuckled at the tyranny in the name of their cause. Now that their little inside-joke on the rest of us is out in the open, they stopped chuckling. Why hide it unless they now realize how evil the whole scheme was; how in violation of individual rights it is?

Listen Mr McFatridge. You have done the citizens of this republic a great favor. That includes YOU, and it protects you whether you know it or not.

You should read the 8th Amendment. It specifically disallows excessive fines. 

I did not take Mr Armendariz' words literally. But only a fool would doubt that he meant financial crucifixion. 

• Excessive fines are unconstitutional. 
• But it takes money to mount a case that would probably have to go to the SCOTUS for the EPA's use of them to be so declared.
• Big Business can fight such excesses with relative ease. They even get exclusions from the EPA.
• Little guys, small businesses -- the big guy's competitors -- cannot.

Do you know what this arrangement is called, Mr. McFatridge? Where the big biz winds up getting the government stifling its competitors?

It's called fascism Mr. McFatridge. Are you a fascist or a fascist tool? I would hope not. 

Mr. Armendariz' financial terrorism is short-sighted and not a joking matter. You have helped reveal his thinking openly. Guaranteed that is just the tip of the iceberg at EPA.  Such "ends justify the means" thinking is entirely sophistical. It is specious reasoning in service to selfish goals. The goal is power to force compliance in environmentalist's narrow terms. But it will also lead to the power to place you and those you care about in the gulag.

Raw power is a very dangerous thing Mr. McFatridge. Look at the 150 million murder victims of it in the last century. That is the selfish goal. Are you proud of your small role as its apparatchik? I hope not. You can still choose not to stay on that path you know.

Recognize Mr McFatridge how good a service you provided to liberty before you even knew it. Release your complaint. Let the truth out. Over the long term, you'll be glad you did.

Principles Must Revolt Against Principals

In “Oh the humanity!”, a examination of how the Left claims to champion interest groups but actually  harnesses them to an ideology or insists that they remain downtrodden, and one where mayor Bloomberg's actions provide an inhumane example, Wretchard concludes:

Perhaps history will ultimately judge that it was always the Left which after all waged the longest and most enduring war on women and on poor people; and that as a practical matter it kept women obedient servants to an ideology and the poor it kept poor. But nobody ever notices it because they keep saying “we’re on your side”.

Ah, now here’s a story that ought to help us NEVER forget that the Left is not only in the Democratic Party.

There have long been Leftists disguised as Progressives in the GOP since the late 1800s. They have incrementally achieved their aims by never admitting they were really pursuing them. Their job has been to run interference for the most radical Leftists who served as their avante-garde. Nobody with a full brain can honestly contest this any longer. And the GOP, the alleged party of opposition, still permits these incrementalists a cozy spot at the head of the table.

Who here needs reminding that Bloomberg bought himself onto the GOP primary Mayoral ballot all those many years ago and the NYC GOP voted for him in the primary simply because this Dem chose to wear an R and he was bringing his money and influence with him? And that charade was a repeat of what has gone on country wide since GHWB, where the GOP has given us one SKUNC after another as our “choice” to provide an “opposition” to Statism. And now they’re pushing Romney, another damnable SKUNC.

Principles will have to revolt against principals or there will never be a true opposition to the Statist advance. I believe it will be difficult, but I refuse to believe it is impossible.

Making His Bones

To add to your distrust of Glenn Beck folder.

Did you hear Mr. Beck this morning? I swear, all the media is set up to confuse the masses, and Mr. Beck appears to be doing his bit to aid that confusion.

Of all the things he could have said about Pastor Terry Jones, his shtick was simply to mock Mr. Jones’ few words as given in an interview. He did this over and over again for the whole hour and on into the next like a running joke. The running joke should have been a series of riffs exposing the outlandish posture “oh you can’t offend Islam” playing in the halls of power and on the Agency of Lies (including FNC).

In the 2nd hour he was back to disclosing some news not playing elsewhere worth hearing, but by then he got a good portion of his audience tuning him out.

Worse, of course, is his attitude, like the one he displayed against Donald Trump last week. It serves only to discredit him, and that detracts to his message. Understand?

See, in his own way, Mr. Beck undermines our message exposing Statists exactly like Terry Jones undermines our outrage at Islamists who used Mr. Jones as the next excuse for their current week-long instigated mayhem akin to Orwell’s two-minutes hate.

With an alarming unattractive and poor spoken pastor like Mr. Jones, WHO doesn’t know they’ll be compared to him for getting angry at the dozens of people murdered? With Mr. Beck acting like an ass, who wants to be seen repeating the important news that he reports?

It is my conjecture from observation that Mr. Beck’s behavior could be no worse were he paying his “dues” for membership in the club of broadcasters (it fits this former rodeo clown who is used to taking his hits), or were he making his bones* for gangsters who have been cultivating dhimmitude worldwide. You know -- like DAMNED SKUNC Lindsay Graham did today.

Mr. Beck made Mr. Jones the object and not the overreacting imams and THEIR excesses, nor did he make a joke of the sniveling dhimmis that pass for leaders in the West. Did Mr. Beck play his part today? Did he do his bit to keep his bona fides with the powers that be? Was his stupid, repetitive, unfunny mockery of Mr. Jones his bit at running himself down? Is he the paid clown to discredit all the good info about many stinking stories simply to discredit that news when you wish to pass it on to friends and relatives? Remember -- Statism is defined as the complete control of all aspects of living. It organizes its own opposition and works to discredit any who have good cause to oppose the overreaching state.

Well, Mr. Beck is not the first on the Right we have learned to distrust like David Brooks or Peggy Noonan. His numbers are down — so maybe he’s desperate like those other two.

My personal opinion is that bloggers are far and away more trustworthy. Until they get paid or we find out they have been on some deep-pocket payroll — then watch out.
