Overt Fascism, the Projection

Recent events got me to thinking has anyone used the phrase "overt fascism" to describe the nature of the crony-capitalism which Bummer has exploited to further his Marxist take-down of America on behalf of his clients?

Well, I did a web search for the phrase. I find it mind boggling that there is a dearth of Right writers recognizing the fascism in Bummer's alliance with major business players and not calling him and them out for it. The foremost I found was this feverish projection by a Leftist rag's wag, published in 2011:  Is Fascism Lurking? by Danny Schechter of the Prog site Commondreams.org.  I recommend reading it. I think it fisks itself.

Here are some excerpts with my short fisks thoughts enclosed in brackets.

The Tea Party is not just after Democrats; it has started a campaign against the liberal Methodist Church. [Holy cow: the TEA Party has taken aim at the Progs of the GOP. But it's the Methodists he singles out.]

Already militias are forming because of fears of immigration [invasion is not immigration]... Gun sales went up after the recent violent incidents in Arizona.[What fascist regime permits private gun ownership? Oh, that's right. YOUR side is active in the gun confiscation efforts. See what I mean Schechter?]

The erosion of economic stability with the rise of foreclosures and the shredding of social services is already turning a financial crisis into a social one. [Your Bum actively did nothing for economic well-being while he spent his first years hobbling jobs with regulation and the Obamacare buildup.]

We already have sharp partisan divide and inflation of hateful rhetoric with vicious putdowns of the President and condemnations by members of Congress calling him corrupt, even a traitor.
According to set of the characteristics of fascist nations, there is "a disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights - Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc. [Uh, huh. Declaring our veterans likely terrorists whilst denying al Qaeda is growing and infiltrating. And the surveillance increases plus Drone snooping and striking that your man is deep into. No fascism there buddy?]

"In place of human rights enemies are turned into scapegoats as a Unifying Cause - The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial [whites] ethnic [Euro] or religious [non-muslim] minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists [anti-]." This process is already far along in the USA. [Yep as I noted: Your projection is a long-standing Prog devise.]

Among the classical characteristics of fascism is a shutting down of debate and a focus on the state--which in our country is controlled by lobbyists and private interests. [Holy cow. The Educational system allows diverse opinions if they even suspect of being on the right? And what conservatives are allowed in ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, PBS? Fox is hardly even conservative judging by Rupert's known Left leanings on numbers of issues from CAGW to Open borders] Wall Street and the military-industrial complex have far more clout than elected officials.[As the military gets trimmed drastically, all haters of America would still say that -- no doubt.]

As the depressing news of last week continued into this week, I was hoping I'd find someone who'd try to awaken America to the real threats from the combined efforts of our two parties (no opposition in view). The best I could find was this mirror image of what is really going on. Sigh.

  1. It does amaze me how they see the problems in others but ignore the timber in their own eye.

At this point I think there is little functional distance between the left and the right at any level of government.

I am not sure how we can disband this bunch of crooks and start over without a period of anarchy, which I really don't want to see.

I am worried that our republic will not long survive. When I read guys like the link author I think a camper in the desert looks better all the time.
