So let us always be ready to review their history. The Left has a pattern that it consistently follows.
- They call themselves progressive; but their lust for power makes them regressive. Concentrated power comes at the expense of individual rights. There is no exception.
- They call themselves liberal; but more intolerance of others' opinion you will not find in any other group.
- They call themselves anti-fascists; but they really seek fascism with "the right people" in charge. Them.
So my point is we all should remember those words of Huey Long -- "Fascism will come to America in the name of anti-fascism." -- because we now know them to have been providing the Progs their vision in their long march through our institutions. Arguably, their antifascist cloak has been their most successful disguise of all.

“Liberalism is nothing more than the ideological disguise of the will-to-power of SOME people, who could NOT themselves be less Liberal” -- Albert Camus

Marxism-Leninism is particularly effective on the semantic level where it exhibits a devastating duality. It lulls its adversaries to sleep, while at the same time it mobilizes its followers to revolutionary action. The Communist International's Seventh Congress concluded that open use of revolutionary terminology does not promote the Marxist-Leninist drive for world domination.
Therefore, "revolution" has been changed into "liberation," "world conquest by the proletariat" has been changed into "peace and socialism," "armed seizure of power and liquidation of the bourgeoisie" has been rephrased to read "peaceful and gradual transition to socialism.''
Even the word "Communism," which every revolutionary is so proud of, has been changed into "progressive, "anti-Fascist" or "liberal." Further, to confuse their adversaries, the Marxist-Leninists have devised a new language which uses old words in the basic vocabulary. When they say "imperialism arouses the wrath of the people and digs its own grave," they mean "through our manipulation of the local Communist parties, and with a vast auxiliary corps of dupes ; and sympathizers, we so arrange matters that the free enterprise system and democracy are destroyed from within. -- From "Where is your America?" by Libor Brom, IMPRIMIS; Hillsdale College, Hillsdale, Michigan, 49242 Vol 11, No. 8., August 1982
After the last election I quit flying my US flag. I had thought about turning it up side down, but felt not enough people would understand. I have thought about a Gadsen flag. That they might understand.
ReplyDeleteWe still fly the flag here...and having served under same for so long, will continue to do so. This is not because of what has been done to this country, it's people, and quite possibly it's future...but for what it has stood for in the past, and for what it (at least to me) represented, once upon a time.
ReplyDeleteHowever, the addition of the Gadsen and the original Navy ensign may be in the cards. (As well as placing a permeant flag pole in the front yard to display same.)

I have to agree with that Guy. It is we who have let our flag down, not it us.
DeleteIt happens to be true that we were founded on the idea that in unity there is strength. You see it repeated in the stripes on our flage, and on the two fascia that is on either side of the podium in the House of Representative chambers. It can also be found on the tails side of the Liberty's Head Dime of 1917-1945, (more commonly known as the Mercury Head Dime).
DeleteThe extremes of fascism came out in the modern era after Mussolini came to power. It's as old as the Etruscan League from which Rome emerged to dominate what had become a tyranny, but retained the idea of "in unity there is strength" that the fascia represents.
However, now as then, the price of liberty is eternal vigilance. So fly that Gadsden Flag below old glory as a reminder of that, and tell that to all who ask you why.
The fascia are also found supporting Lincoln's armrests in his monument on the west end of the National Mall. The Progs have so undermined our institutions that they have turned our government into the type that allowed Mussolini to lead his country to ruin.
DeleteDo not give up without a fight.
