Doing so succinctly is a rare bonus.Pascalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00303025432356543062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8851395.post-35406659291599861262013-07-28T21:06:56.208-07:002013-07-28T21:06:56.208-07:00You have summed it up quite succinctly when you st...You have summed it up quite succinctly when you stated "Help support what's left and Help Restore what's lost" Amen. I, being retired, have less reason than you for staying here in the every growing blackhole that is Los Angeles -- and financially actually more reason for leaving.

But I watched my family run from NYC when I was 13. I deliberately moved into an inner city enclave nearly 40 years ago rather than a posh suburb to make up for that earlier fleeing. My little family actually had a positive affect on the immediate neighborhood. We fought back the jungle and revitalized this little niche. However, urban areas will be the first to be destroyed when the house of cards collapses, and I know it. So why stay? I stay to help the neighbors keep their sanity a wee bit longer while all around us lose theirs.

I wish you the best. I hope you can make that move before the SHTF.Pascalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00303025432356543062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8851395.post-74538171152665029042013-07-24T18:11:12.443-07:002013-07-24T18:11:12.443-07:00Oh, and perhaps a bit closer to what you posted. ...Oh, and perhaps a bit closer to what you posted. Talk to the kids at work...and the grandkids (and their parents). Let them know what it was like 40-60 years ago. Talk about the Constitution...and what was the intent of having it in the first place. Take time to be critical (not always in a negative way) about media/entertainment. Talk about what was listened to, read, and watched "back in my day", as well as in MY parents day, when they were children. That gets those with half a brain, to at least attempt to think....and those who are already on our same page...well, they get a bit of support/commradery.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8851395.post-59279774777761355442013-07-24T18:05:57.569-07:002013-07-24T18:05:57.569-07:00I am sure there is corruption even here in our lit...I am sure there is corruption even here in our little hamlet in the backwaters of the Peoples Republik of Illinois. In fact, we had a school board president who was voted out after two years of major mismanagement of the district funds and having close ties to the construction company who built the two newest schools in town (One of which was not needed, and the other quite possibly could have been handled with a re-build of the existing [old] structure.)

As far as local and state politics go, well..this IS the Peoples Republik of Illinois after all... short of taking care of local individuals, and trying to elect state reps who at least give the appearance of representing the local will of the people. We have the black hole (no racial slur intended...comparing to the astrological phenom for those not too quick on the uptake) other wise known as "The Chicago metropolitan area", and to a somewhat lesser extent, Springfield/East St. Louis/Rockford metro areas. These all contribute majorly to this state swinging far left...and for the fiscal mess it is in. There is little if anything one can do to remedy this. The only choices would be:
A) Throw your hands up in the air and accept that nothing is going to change...and stay in the state.
B) All of "A" above except you get out of Illinois ASAP and head toward a state which is not infected with this cancer...or has a strong enough group of folks who can counter any such stupidity.
C) Secede from the state, forming your own "new state". (This idea is gaining some traction, especially south of Springfield.)
D) All out civil war.

I have to admit, for the moment, I am forced to live with "A". As soon as finances permit, or things become too bad, "B" will most likely happen. (And Texas here I come!!) I would willingly take pare in "C" should that be brought up in our neck of the woods. And if such a thing happens while I am still in the state, will, with a very heavy heart (mo one EVER wants to spill blood...but only a fool will refuse to admit that there comes a time when that is perhaps the only viable option) will embrace option "D".

As far as trying to "educate" or enlighten those who refuse to see the writing on the wall. I think we are past the point where you will be able to convert (at least willingly) any who take their marching orders from "the other side". I see that in those around me and in at least one of my family members.
It is past the point of no return. We either rise up and take the country back, or we resign ourselves to being witness to the end of the American Experiment.

Corruption in this case is not a disease, but a major "tell" that we are in the final days of the Republic.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
